That's a Wrap on WT Middle East
Post date: 09 December 2022
Targeting the Tobacco Industry
Events like World Tobacco Middle East are essential for those of us in the packaging and processing industry wishing to showcase our products and services to a dedicated audience, in this instance, the Tobacco industry, with vendors from around the world promoting everything from processing raw ingredients, flavourings, and packaging materials to inspection and test equipment, and machinery for cigars, cigarettes, molasses, and other tobacco products.
Our experience at WT Middle East
Gary Thick, Marden Edwards International Sales & Marketing Manager, and Mike Patey, Commercial Director, Tracking & Coding, were at the show to promote both our tobacco overwrapping machine range, and our tracking and coding system.
We asked Gary to share his thoughts on Marden Edwards' experience at the event.
“It was great to visit the bustling World Tobacco show in Dubai again, meeting with old and new customers in the region", said Gary. "The show proved to be a good platform to showcase our packaging and track & trace solutions, (with) a good mix of international visitors from the area attending (and) showing keen interest for new projects. We look forward to our further discussions, and exhibiting again next year".
Global visitors
During the 2 day event at the Dubai World Trade Centre, we enjoyed meeting with global visitors within the Tobacco industry, including businesses from: Bulgaria, Germany, India, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
Under discussion
The best part of attending these industry shows is getting down to what's important, discussing the needs and requirements of our current customers and new business prospects.
During WT Middle East we discussed the following solutions with our visitors: hand and auto case packing requirements; track and trace (METS) for both new start-up businesses and existing customers; new customers wishing to upgrade to better quality machinery to deliver enhanced product wrapping; overwrapping solutions for Molasses; overwrap and track and trace solutions for cigar tins; upgrading from hand wrapping to packaging solutions for tobacco and molasses, and building further supplier relationships.
From that impressive list, it looks to be a busy time not only for the sales team but also those at Marden Edwards HQ to get the new enquiries dealt with and ultimately, orders into production.
Thanks & Appreciation
Finally, we'd like to thank Mike Patey and Gary Thick for managing the intense 2 day schedule at the show, to the WT Middle East team for setting up the event, and of course everyone who came to visit us on the stand - your interest and business is appreciated.
We’ll see you again at next year’s event which runs from 27-28 November 2023 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
